April 24: Earth Day Walk in McDonald Woods
On this walk, explore the 100-acre McDonald Woods during the traditional Earth Day walk (Earth Day is earlier in the week on April 22). The naturally occurring oak woodland community of plants and animals has been restored for the public to experience some of the rich native communities that once covered the Midwest.

May 1: Crabapples
Crabapples are one of the real showstoppers of the spring landscape; their spicy fragrance and delicate color are a sure sign of the season. Bask in the bowers of crabapple blossoms that cloak Evening Island and the Great Basin. During this guided garden walk, learn about crabapple varieties and their care.

May 8: Spring Highlights
No season is more longed for, or dreamed about, than spring, perhaps because it rubs shoulders with the harshest months of the year. On this spring day (and others!), discover daily miracles and celebrate the plant world at the Garden in all its optimism, color, and beauty.

May 15: Trees
There's more to spring than tulips and daffodils! Trees put on an impressive show at this time of year, too, with displays that range from subtle to boisterous. Come marvel at the countless contributions trees add to the springtime landscape.

No reservations necessary.
